Abstract The aim of this research was to compare the level digital competence future pedagogical staff (students faculties) in Italy and Poland. conducted using original measurement tools knowledge tests. triangulation techniques made possible determination positive negative features development information society, as well proficiency frequency use most popular websites software. first half 2022 stratified sampling both countries (N = 1209, IT 604, PL 605). Based on data collected, it noted that: (1) Pre-service teachers often software such word processors presentation creation tools; (2) This group very rarely uses create web pages, visual material, or edit video; (3) least problematic that students are multimedia presentations; (4) Among typical ICT mediated activities cause problems are: searching for installing freeware (PL), configuring parental control (PL, IT), creating freely licensed images, identifying plagiarism (PL); (5) Polish have more theoretical about e-risks possibilities world than their Italian counterparts; (6) In domains, rate competences higher; (7) 53.81% respondents 38.68% received lower results tests, handling selected areas causes these students; (8) Both its seamless integration predictors assessing effectiveness education.
